Dr Robert Pozzi
Dr Robert Pozzi provides specialty care for a diverse range of orthopaedics including, but not limited to, trauma and emergency, paediatrics, foot and ankle, limb lengthening and reconstruction.
Dr Pozzi grew up in Brisbane, Queensland and graduated from University of Queensland in 1987. After three years residency at Royal Brisbane Hospital and general practice locums in Brisbane and surrounds he completed his orthopaedic training at the Royal Darwin Hospital.
Robert then lived and worked in Lecco, Italy, where he gained fellowship in Ilizarov Technique, used in the lengthening of limbs and correction of deformities in which he now specialises. In 1999 Dr Pozzi worked in Edinburgh at the Princess Margaret Rose Hospital and in the Hospital for Sick Children, Royal Infirmary prior to taking up position as Director of Orthopaedics at Cairns Hospital, a position he held until 2002.
Dr Pozzi commenced private practice in 2001 and combines this with his VMO work at the Cairns Hospital.
Dr Pozzi is actively involved with Cairns Hockey and Cairns Rubgy and Rugby League Associations.
